I've mentioned the YouTube show/channel Extra Credits on our show before. I love the show. It's a critical analysis of video games by people in the industry. Their most recent video is astoundingly good, and is a great example of both why I enjoy their product and why games matter.
Games can be used to teach lessons and convey messages about society. Even games who don't even think about it are doing it. It does a discredit to us all for people not to stop and think about what they are putting into their games and what their games say to the world. Take a few minutes and enjoy the video and think about the potential of games as both an entertainment and social/political medium. If it's art, why aren't we using it better?
Can you think of any games out there that have been super thoughtful and offered a great experience through a lense?
